About Theweeklytimes

We Plan the Ceiling Before the Cabinets

Theweeklytimes is a kitchen remodeling company working out of Culver Dr in Irvine. We take on full kitchen remodels and smaller refreshes in single-family homes, townhomes and condos, and we approach every one of them from the same starting point: what is inside the walls and ceiling, and what the permit is going to require once it opens.

That habit comes from watching how kitchen jobs go wrong. The cabinets get chosen, the counters get templated, and then somebody discovers that the panel cannot carry the range, the new island needs a circuit that has no easy path, or the recessed lights that looked fine in the showroom are not the kind the inspector will accept. At that point every fix costs more, because it means cutting into finished work.

So we reverse the order. On the first visit we open the panel, look at the ceiling and the soffits, count the circuits that already serve the counters, and ask what appliances you want. Then we draw a lighting and power plan for the new layout and price it. Only after that do we talk about door styles and slab colors.

What That Looks Like in Practice

In an original Woodbridge or Northwood kitchen, it usually means removing a fluorescent soffit box, adding airtight LED downlights, running new 20 amp counter circuits and checking whether the service can take an induction range. In a newer Portola Springs or Great Park kitchen, it is more often under-cabinet lighting, better switching and a pendant or two over the island, with the wiring left as it is.
